I am currently in the process of creating a series of “virtual artist’s books” for the Gameboy Advance (GBA). This project is slated for its official debut in Sept. 2004 as part of the completion of my fellowship residency at the Kala Art Institute in Berkeley, CA. In anticipation of that body of work I am providing an exclusive preview via the Whitney Artport. Come, explore.

Evolution of a GBA Artist
I offer to you an essay regarding the evolution of my art practice as it relates to the potential for the Gameboy Advance (GBA) as a device for artistic inquiry.

Super Ichthyologist Advance
In this installation, I converted the Gameboy Advance into a virtual repository for show quality Koi. The fish are trapped within the devices: a much smaller tank, but more effective method for distributing ownership of these regal animals.

Invisible Maps
Invisible Maps is a web-based interactive work which explores threads of narrative: how the choices we make when traveling are akin to letters, words and sentences. Invisible Maps examines those unknowable relationships; invisible realities that linger in the atmosphere with the smell of electricity.
